Content that captures excellence in research

The Francis Crick Institute moved into its stunning new building in 2016. It needed an Annual Review that celebrated the curiosity-driven research already underway under its new roof.

The Crick has quickly made its mark as one of the foremost research institutes in the UK since it opened its doors in 2016.

I joined the institute back then as it opened and created its Annual Review several months later. The print publication was aimed at the Crick’s funders, donors, research partners and other important stakeholders.

It needed to capture the excitement of the new institute, demonstrate its research excellence and the importance of its discoveries for understanding the biology underlying human health.

I created the content, making the most of my science writing skills, and briefing a design agency on the layout. All of this under the watchful eyes of a steering group of academics from across the institute and sign off at the very top – making sure the publication matched the quality of the Crick’s science.
